While you can set timers of all lengths online, you only truly experience the beauty of anticipation when you can reliably look at upcoming events day to day, which means getting a countdown clock app for your Mac.

Countdown App For Mac Desktop
Where the Clock app surprises and delights is around timers. If you set a timer, the countdown is automatically added to the menu bar at the top of your Mac. Clicking it opens the Clock app, and the countdown continues even if you quit the Clock app. I can see this new built-in feature being very useful for managing tasks and time while working on the Mac.
Countdown widget is an app that lets you put countdown clocks on your desktop. It is a simple commercial app that you can install directly from the Mac App Store. You can use it to remind yourself of important events that will happen in a given number of days, weeks or months, or to set countdown timers for a specific activity. Unlike similar applications, the clocks are shown on your desktop only; and not on top of other applications. This probably was done so that the clocks wouldn't bother you all the time. That is a wise decision but I would like the option to set them on top of other apps.
You can add new countdown widgets from the Preference window, where you can customize them a bit. For each widget, you can set a color, add a title, and an event date. If you want a countdown, you have to check the "Time Element". All your active widgets will appear on the left pane. You can add new ones by clicking on "New" or remove those that area active. Countdown widget can be set to start at login and you can choose whether or not you want to see a menubar icon. more
Hi and thank you. I dont see a problem here, if I understand you correctly. On one monitor you will be running a full screen timer and on other (extended desktop) monitor, you have your presentation. It is allready being done like that on numerous TEDx presentations, as it was on ours. Best
I currently use the Apimac timer for my Anatomy lab exams because of one feature it has. It can be set to make a sound then automatically reset and start counting down again each time it finishes a countdown cycle. There are a number of things I do not like about the product, but that feature works and is necessary for my application. Does you timer have this feature? If so I would be interested.

Investing in Parallels Toolbox is an excellent choice because it has such a vast variety of tools. Some of the tools included are airplane mode, date countdown, do not disturb, and resize images. Those are just a handful of the many applications Parallels Toolbox has.
I know there are a lot of answers, but I just want to post something very close to OP's question, that personally I would accept as indeed "oneliner countdown in terminal". My goals were:
Found this question earlier today, when looking for a term application to display a large countdown timer for a workshop. None of the suggestions was exactly what I needed, so I quickly put another one together in Go:

When I tried it a couple of times, it played the time up sound repeatedly. Though it took me a couple of tries to get familiar with it, the lightweight app running on the desktop or dock made it easier to form that habit of taking a break often. You can buy Good Timer for $0.99 from the Mac App Store.
i have seen a few people say its not working or that after installing, after the setup wizard nothing happens. Just go to your settings and make sure to switch on screensaver its under personalization>lockscreen>screensaver settings...change it from (none) to "countdown", choose date to countdown to and the time, then set how long after the screen is inactive to activate the countdown timer 2ff7e9595c
